Social Impact
Armadillo Botanics is located in Armenia, Qundio (Colombia). It is recognized as a ZOMAC zone (Zones Most Affected by the Armed Conflict). There is also a prevalence of adolescent and youth population, which represents an opportunity to strengthen income generation and labor opportunities, based on the economic and productive vocations of the territory.
Armenia, Quindio
Although the context of Armenia poses great challenges for overcoming multidimensional poverty in rural areas, it is also true that there are many opportunities.
From the agro-industrial sector of cannabis, in terms of labor and social conditions, technology and opportunities from by-products of different industries, etc., it is possible to glimpse not only an economic opportunity for rural areas of the country, but also a door to new learning.
With the dignification of the trades and the countryside and the opportunities for community/territorial development, education and empowerment, it is possible to build a social fabric.
From this perspective, at Armadillo Botanics we propose that the legal cannabis crop be an engine for development and a trigger for learning and peace building.
In order to achieve this objective, Armadillo Botanics is committed to education as a vehicle for change, as the main lever for mobilization.
Education triggers movement from poor, under– educated communities to strong communities, protagonists of their own development, with a solid social fabric.
As a company we are convinced that education is the vehicle for change, which is why we have created the CLI (Center for Learning & Innovation).
Committed to education
CLI Armadillo is a meeting place for the inhabitants of the areas surrounding the cultivation of medical cannabis AB (Armadillo Botanics), where through training in technical skills and skills for life and the Colombian countryside seeks to promote a new look, more dignified, with more opportunities, innovative and competitive.
Also, convinced of the importance of knowledge exchange, in CLI we have local, national and international volunteers as main trainers, who are always committed to provide their service for the benefit of the Center’s participants. In this way, we not only seek that technical tools and personal development reach Colombian rural areas, but that the encounter of diverse cultures allows the construction of peace and the reconstruction of the social fabric.
This space is a place where people can learn in community, where education gives a sense of community and solidarity for territorial development. It is based on the principle of diversity, from holistic learning to participants of different ages, genders, ethnicities, nationalities, etc. We focus on the harmonious understanding of the human-nature relationship.
